I'm needed, but am I wanted?
Is there anything for me here?
Is needing the same as wanting?
Or can we just not let go?
Round and round,
Round and round
Up and down,
The movements are the same
Round and round
Round and round
Up and down,
And the music's starting up again.
Are we just going around
Or are we loving still?
Is this the way that love must be?
Or are we doing something wrong?
Is letting go so hard
If this just isn't right
Why can't we go our separate ways,
And savor what was past?
Round and round,
Round and round
Up and down,
The movements are the same
Round and round
Round and round
Up and down,
And the music's starting up again.
Habit is such a strong thing
Is this all that it is?
Or is love just changing
Into something I don't recognize?
If I only want to make you happy,
And this is what it takes,
Does it make me wrong not to want it
Do changes mean an ending, and are we going
Round and round,
Round and round
Up and down,
The movements are the same
Round and round
Round and round
Up and down,
And the music's starting up again.
If life is a carnival,
And love a carousel
Then mine is dark and twisted
And the figures straight from hell.
Round and round,
Round and round
Up and down,
The movements are the same
Round and round
Round and round
Up and down,
And the music's starting up again.
