Alexa found herself in a dirty alley, strange horseless carriages and strange buildings surrounded her. She was about to walk to the entrance of said alley and take a look at the better lighted place that was beyond when sounds of pursuit came towards her. A brown haired young man appeared in her field of vision, closely followed by four brutish looking men. He tried to climb a wall to his safety but was grabbed by the ankles and unceremoniously thrown to the floor, where the brutes began to kick him. Without thinking, Alexa walked to the group and in an amused tone that barely concealed her disgust she said "Having fun now, are we? Why don't you fine men take on somebody who's a match for you instead of this helpless kid?"

One of the men eyed her and asked "Who would you suggest, girlie? You?"

Alexa smirked and answered "Why not? Or are you afraid of me? I could take all of you at the same time if you are game."

The men laughed and the man on the floor looked at her with a mixture of relief at the respite and disbelief at what he was seeing. Surely she was mad and soon she would be dead...or worse. The men left him where he lay, crumpled and in too much pain to move and began to circle Alexa, cruel smiles on their lips and their faces full of their intentions for her. She would die, slowly, but not before they broke her. Alexa stood her ground, reached into a pocket of her tattered denim jacket for her cigarettes, lit up one, inhaled deeply and exhaled into the nearest man's face.

The blue gray smoke that came out of Alexa's lips began to move in a very purposeful manner and soon it began to take shape. The men were in a kind of trance, their eyes following the smoke when it divided into four hazy tendrils and began moving sinuously around Alexa's body. She then raised her arms slowly and began to move her body in a dance so suggestive, that the men began to swallow dryly, their throats making clicking sounds. Images began to form in their minds as Alexa's hands moved, of darkened rooms, bodies tumbling and beds in disarray. They were so wrapped up in their dreams that they never noticed when Alexa had danced her way right in the middle of a circle formed by them. Alexa's hips began to twist and turn in a decidedly erotic fashion, keeping time with her upper body and the lazy movements of her arms and suddenly she began to turn. Slow at first and then growing in speed, until she was turning impossibly fast. And that's when all hell broke loose.

The young man had been sitting, breathing slowly so he wouldn't hurt so much and was also mesmerized by the girl's dance. The images that had filled the others' minds didn't fill his, the spell was not intended for him. Instead, he saw in his mind's eye the same woman, dressed differently and dancing before an audience. There was a strange iron collar on her neck and he knew it was a slave collar. He felt anger at seeing that on her neck and then another image came into his mind, of this woman, dancing with a tall white-haired man and smiling. There was a beautiful necklace on her neck this time and he knew she was free. His reverie was broken when the screams began. He shook his head and fully expected to see his savior lying on the floor, his attackers making short work of her. And when he focused on the scene before him he gasped painfully, for he couldn't believe his eyes.
